National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July.  Launched in 2010 by “So You Think You Can Dance” co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe, this grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity.

On July 26th, Jenna had the honor of leading the 5th Annual National Dance Day event at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., one of many similar events that took place across America, mainly in Los Angeles and at New York's Lincoln Center.  Along with Jenna, "So You Think You Can Dance" (SYTYCD) 2013 winner Fik-Shun taught the official 2014 National Dance Day routine to about a thousand enthusiasts who jam-packed Kennedy Center's 630-foot-long Grand Foyer.

The routine, "Everybody Dance", was choreographed by SYTYCD co-creator, executive producer, and judge Nigel Lythgoe to the song "Too Cool To Dance" by Eden xo.

"Dancing uses every part and every aspect of your body, mind, and soul. It's the most inclusive kind of exercise," Jenna said in a recent interview with examiner.com. "Dancing has helped me so much in so many ways."
